‘I’ve always enjoyed presenting, and I’ve always been interested in advocacy. As a law student, I was awarded the Tom Cain Mooting Trophy for 2011 by the Queensland University of Technology (QUT) Law School. I have also worked as a tutor in equity and trusts at the University of Queensland.
Melissa is a highly regarded facilitator who brings a relaxed, professional and entertaining style to her presentations for Elevista. She has run workshops that address the impact of case decisions on policy interpretation and the application of the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 to product liability claims.
‘I work hard to make our Elevista workshops and in-house training sessions engaging and practical, and I think the insurance professionals who participate find them both enjoyable and very useful in terms of content.’
A talented writer, Melissa has published articles for industry publications on current insurance and risk issues, including contractor liability and the right to privacy online.
‘I believe the key to success for Elevista is the fact that we’ve abandoned a traditional teaching model and developed a unique mode of training that is very interactive and includes a lot of interesting discussions. We focus on simplifying what are often complex legal issues, and show participants how to apply solutions in practical situations. I believe that this is why the feedback on our training is so positive.’
