Associate Facilitator

Melissa Carius is an associate facilitator at Elevista Interactive Learning and an associate in the Insurance & Health team at Barry.Nilsson.

At Barry.Nilsson., Melissa specialises in public and product liability, health law, workplace health and safety prosecutions and compulsory third party claims. She also represents clients in coronial investigations and inquests. Melissa provides advice on indemnity, liability and quantum.

‘I’ve always enjoyed presenting, and I’ve always been interested in advocacy. As a law student, I was awarded the Tom Cain Mooting Trophy for 2011 by the Queensland University of Technology (QUT) Law School. I have also worked as a tutor in equity and trusts at the University of Queensland.

Melissa is a highly regarded facilitator who brings a relaxed, professional and entertaining style to her presentations for Elevista. She has run workshops that address the impact of case decisions on policy interpretation and the application of the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 to product liability claims.

‘I work hard to make our Elevista workshops and in-house training sessions engaging and practical, and I think the insurance professionals who participate find them both enjoyable and very useful in terms of content.’
