The 'Ins and Outs' of Cyber Policies
Cyber is the new black... for risk professionals at least!
With the introduction of new, hard-line privacy laws & penalties in March, reports of data breaches now a staple of our weekly newsfeed, and greater scrutiny from Australian privacy and corporate watchdogs, the cost of doing business without considering this type of insurance just got a whole lot more expensive.
Many don’t appreciate that the costs associated with intentional or unintentional technology breaches – like fines & penalties, claims expenses, regulatory response and reputation repair costs - don't fall comfortably within the 'four walls' of traditional insurance products.
And it’s not just the big players around town who are finding themselves vulnerable...SME’s are just as likely to experience a cyber issue and less able to absorb the resulting loss.
In this half-day workshop, you will obtain an insight into modern 'cyber' business exposures, the current state of the law and how cyber insurance terms work by experiencing and applying them first-hand. You will be presented with a series of ‘cyber’ scenarios (including accidental loss of data, social media mishaps and intentional criminal activity) resulting in first and third party loss. Working within those scenarios you will trace, explore and experience:
- ‘Cyber’ loss exposures relevant to every business
- The breadth and limitations of typical cyber policy terms
- The protection these policies offer that traditional policies don’t.
This workshop has been specifically designed for insurance and risk professionals wanting to increase their understanding of:
- current cyber risks and exposures; and
- the Australian insurance products designed to meet them.
